The DBU-HSSI is designed to broadcast Data and Clock signals. The interface is balanced Emitter Coupled Logic(ECL)and is compliant to HSSI electrical specifications. The device has one input port and four output ports. This product is used to split a data stream for multiple users of simplex data.
The HSSI Data Splitter model DBU-HSSI is designed for use in receive only data broadcast applications. Examples of high speed HSSI or ECL compliant device data broadcast applications are; continuously updated private or public data displays and distribution of continuous data to Routers, Bridges or PCâ€™s. The expanding role of VSAT systems in receive only applications for real time data distribution is expected to increase dramatically over the next few years. The DBU-HSSI is an excellent choice for applications of this type.
The DBU-HSSI utilizes an Emitter Coupled Logic(ECL) balanced user interface on all subchannel ports. ECL is utilized for all HSSI data interfaces on Routers and Bridges. The ECL interface has a maximum data rate of up to 52Mbps. The unit has female DB-25 connectors that allow the user to easily and economically source data cables.
The DBU-HSSI continuously broadcasts receive data and receive timing from the master input port to the four output ports. The DBU-HSSIâ€™s master port should be connected to the HSSI transmitter(DCE device). The input signals are split with the internal circuitry and broadcast out on the four output HSSI ports. All output ports should be connected to DTE devices. Each port has its own independent driver and receiver for re-transmitting Data and Clock signals.
The DBU-HSSI is housed in a sturdy aluminum standalone or rackmount enclosure and is supplied with an internal linear power supply. The unit has a 110/220 VAC rotary select switch located on the rear of the housing and can operate on standard AC power found in all countries.
